Erika Cerna’s career at Atria began while she was attending college. What started as a part-time job in Atria Glen Cove’s restaurant eventually turned into her life’s passion.

Shortly after joining the Atria family, she was promoted to Concierge and then Administrative Assistant before deciding to pursue a nursing degree – she wanted a career where she could spend her life helping people.

After graduating, Erika lost her hand in a car accident. Although this would have been a setback for many people, it didn’t stop Erika from following her dream. Just three months later, she became the Resident Relations Director at Atria Glen Cove, and has since been promoted to Resident Services Director.

“I’ve stayed with Atria because everyone here has become my family,” Erika said. “I truly enjoy coming to work each day. It’s not just a job – it’s something I’ve developed a passion for.”

We’ve certainly been inspired by Erika. What about you?

    What a wonderful story!
I can relate! I love my job at atria. I don’t even see it as a job. I love my resident and staff as if we were family. I pinch myself everyday because I cannot believe I get paid to do something I absolutely love to do! God bless you Erika. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.
