Driven to Serve: Meet Jonathan Aquino
Posted on June 25, 2014 by Elizabeth Edrington
Jonathan Aquino is known for providing excellent service as a dishwasher at Atria Crossroads Place, but his dedication to helping others doesn’t stop there.
When bad weather hits and road conditions are rough, he offers to drive his co-workers to work. Residents also love his caring spirit – on his days off, Jonathan assists with resident activities and has even started a garden club at the community.
According to Joseph Della Puca, Executive Director at the community, “Jonathan’s positive, upbeat attitude is so contagious that it’s helped bring employee morale to an all-time high.”
Jonathan also makes time to give back to his larger community of Waterford, Connecticut. As a Naval Petty Officer First Class, he leads cadets through drills, boot camps and fundraisers for charities. Instead of resting on Saturday mornings, he goes to the local library to help children learn how to read. On top of it all, he also provides for his mother and two younger brothers.
It comes as no surprise that Jonathan can perfectly recite and explain the meaning behind Atria’s mission statement, as he truly lives it each day.
