Veteran Kirby H. Woehst, Atria Cypresswood
Posted on January 29, 2014 by Katy Miller
In January 1944, after leaving New York with his new B-24 crew and transiting Brazil and Africa, he arrived in southern Italy. His crew, flying their B-24, named Tailwind, flew their first combat mission on February 13, 1944.
He did not know until three days later when he received a Western Union telegram, that he had become a father on February 13, 1944, when his son was born in Houston, Texas.

That’s my wonderful Dad!!!!
Cynthia I would love to hear how your father is doing, I know this is an old post. He might be the last surviving member of the tailwind crew.
