Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) is currently a superstar in the grain/cereal family and is featured in many current cooking magazines and recipes. Unlike most grains and cereals that are high in protein, quinoa is a complete protein, meaning it contains all the necessary amino acids for human nutrition – and it’s very rare for a plant food to contain all nine amino acids. Quinoa cooks quickly and has a distinctive nutty flavor. It also available as quinoa flour which can be used in baking and is gluten free.
