“We couldn’t afford a telephone when we first got married.”
Atria on Roslyn Harbor resident Jeannette Weledniger recalls being a newlywed and taking the stairs or the elevator down to the lobby to use the public telephone to call her mother. “I’d ask her, ‘How do you make this? How do you make that?’ and that’s how I learned how to truly start to cook,” Jeannette said.
Watch as she and Chad Welch, Atria Director of Culinary Development, create her mother’s recipe for Hungarian Pogácsa Butter Cookies.
“There was nothing that she made that wasn’t slip-smacking good,” Jeannette said.
