A Message from Our Executive Director
Life at our community is tailored to the interests and desires of our residents. Here, seniors can live comfortably while taking advantage of opportunities they may not have had while staying at home alone. We take care of the cooking; we take care of the cleaning; we take care of the driving – that way, our residents can focus on doing what they love and choosing what they want to explore next. Welcome to a lifestyle that's full of possibilities. Welcome home.
And we’ll respond accordingly. After all, it’s insights from people like you that help us continue to improve the Atria experience for our residents, their families, our staff and those connected to our communities.

As next of kin, HCP and POA, I am very involved in my Aunt's care. I am so glad that I chose Atria Shaker and their Life Guidance unit. All of her needs, are met by Karen and her professional and caring staff. My family and I are so thankful for the kindness and effective care given by Angela on the day shift. We call her Aunt's Angel, and indeed she fills that role. People with dementia and Alz. present unique challenges and she always rises to the occasion.

My mom and dad moved into the Atria Shaker last October and were there for almost a year. Unfortunately, my dad fell and had to move to a nursing home. We moved my mom to the Life Guidance Unit at the Atria until she, too, moved to the nursing home where my dad is. I wanted to let you know that the care and attention my parents received at the Atria were outstanding. I wish they were still there. I never worried about them not being attended to and I knew they were in a safe environment with a very caring staff. Every staff member I met, and I'm pretty sure I met all of them, were sincere and dedicated to their job. It's important to me that I relay this to you because you should be very proud of your team there.

I liked it so much, I would choose it for myself, if I could stay in the Albany area. I've been very sick and need assisted living, but I have to move to where my family is, and they live out of the area. I liked that I was there around 4 pm, and lots of people were hanging out in the lobby. They had sing-alongs, bible studies and a shuffleboard court in the back. I liked a lot of the other activities they offered, too. They'll let you keep a cat - I have one. The rooms are small, but I have seen smaller on the Assisted Living Circuit. I'd live here, because it seemed like a happy atmosphere, with the kind of activities I would like.

Atria Shaker has surpassed my expectations in almost every way. The staff is more than professional, they truly care for each and every resident and go above and beyond on a daily basis. My mother has been a resident at Atria Shaker for almost six months and I could not be more pleased with our experience. I have peace of mind that she is happy, busy and being very well cared for. The house keepers, dining room waitstaff, front desk attendants, executive director, social directors and wellness center staff all work as a team to ensure that the residents receive the very best care!
