My stepfather has been at Atria since September. He feels completely at home there. He’s made lots of new friends, is treated very well by the staff, and loves the food. He also has his little dog with him which is a real comfort for him. Maya also draws a lot of social contact for him.

It is difficult to select superstars from among so many outstanding candidates, but here are a few who shine brighter because of their non-patronizing attitude; their sincere efforts to make residents feel respected, comfortable, and safe in their environment; and who demonstrate a high level of professionalism. These caretakers also project a positive, cheerful approach in the performance of their duties. Smiles go a long way in making the day more pleasant and less boring. They are: Kimberlyn Chavez and Shane Etheridge. At the front desk the smiles and obvious desire to be of service are Ruby DelaCruz, Christine Johnson, and Shalyn Ranches. I am certain there are others among the staff but I have not been in close contact with all of them. Glenn Shimer and Helen Patsiouras also deserve our recognition for their efforts to make our lives here as pleasant as possible.
