A Message from Our Executive Director
Life at our community is tailored to the interests and desires of our residents. Here, seniors can live comfortably while taking advantage of opportunities they may not have had while staying at home alone. We take care of the cooking; we take care of the cleaning; we take care of the driving – that way, our residents can focus on doing what they love and choosing what they want to explore next. Welcome to a lifestyle that's full of possibilities. Welcome home.
And we’ll respond accordingly. After all, it’s insights from people like you that help us continue to improve the Atria experience for our residents, their families, our staff and those connected to our communities.

My mom has lived here for a little over three years. My family made a very good decision of moving mom to assisted living. It has helped her become active and involved in many social events while also helping her continue to learn, grow, and interact with other people living at Atria. When she first started living here she needed constant help. The staff and caregivers have done excellent job really caring for my mom. They go above and beyond. They work hard and are so kind, respectful, helpful, fun, and sociable—my mom loves seeing them, and thinks of some as her “children.” We, too, love our “brothers & sisters.”

We have many examples of special love and care given to our dad over the last four years, but right now, a thoughtful caregiver has devoted her day off twice a month for several months to accompany our immobile dad to a special wound care clinic. And she is not the only one at Lake Arlington Atria who goes above and beyond.

With every stage in life we are confronted with different challenges.Moving one’s parents from their home of 60 years to a senior community is one of those challenges. Leaving the memories, comfort and familiarity of home for the unfamiliar is unsettling. I had interviewed and visited several senior communities before visiting Atria Lake Arlington. All the senior communities offered the same basic services and amenities. Within minutes first meeting with Atria representative, fears and concerns were replaced with optimism. The determining factor was the people. I felt I was ‘Home” as they spoke of their community and their approach. Leaving that initial meeting, I felt this would be a good place to live. I could trust my parents would have a comfortable life living with a staff who cared and among residents they had worked with, knew from living in Arlington and fellow church members. Since then, a feeling of community has flourished and become an important part of mom & dad’s life. That feeling of community has remained constant as mom and dad’s needs have changed in 3 years of living in independent living, hospice and now in assisted living. Atria’s staff and leadership has supported my parents through every situation, crisis and turn in the road and continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting my parents lives.

It was a huge decision to accept that my mother needed to be in assisted living. She had lived with our family for several years, and she progressively needed more care than I was trained to give her. I chose Atria Lake Arlington after viewing the site and talking with several trusted friends who had family members in assisted living. It was a very good decision for us. When I walk in to visit, every staff member speaks to me. Most importantly, the caregivers are some of the kindest people I know. These women truly care for my mom and have treated her with kindness and respect. My mother\'s face lights up when a caregiver walks into the room-she loves interacting with people. They are a vital link in the chain of providing a safe, friendly place to live. She loves that they have a hair salon and she especially enjoys going to the various activities. All of the staff work very hard and I feel like I have a good relationship with the Atria staff and caregivers. My mom will be starting her 3rd year in September and she is comfortable and cozy in her apartment.

My family has been residents at Atria Lake Arlington several years now; Independent living is where my in-laws began their new residence. We were so comforted with the cleanliness, the caring / welcoming staff, the spacious apartments, the ability to come and go as they please, and the many friends they made from their first week there on. We can’t stress enough how comfortable they were and how friendly and caring all levels of the staff is. The staff especially became a major part of their ‘new’ extended family. The adjustment for my mother-n-law seemed to be ‘easier’ if you will because of the constant checking in on her from the staff and new friends. An unfortunate fall for my mother-n-law recently had us make the decision to move her to Assisted Living. To have this facility at the same complex, along with the familiarity to her from her walks around the area made the transition for her quite comfortable, whereas her move and adjustment to her new apartment went smoothly. (She actually loves her new layout and is still complimentary on how special it makes her feel because it’s all of her own furnishings compacted to fit her needs) I’m not sure if it is possible to have a more caring staff. They are truly there to ‘assist’ in whatever area is needed. This gives myself and the rest of the family such Peace of Mind knowing that at any given moment she will have aides available to assist her. And if any issues do come up, they are prompt to call to keep us fully informed.Thank you to all of the Atria family for giving us the Peace of Mind, knowing that Norma is loved and in good hands!
