The Ride Of A Lifetime
Posted on October 17, 2013 by Taylor Rhea
Geraldine Newman fell in love with hot air balloons when she was a little girl. And she waited 100 years to board one.
As a young child, she “watched the little birds sitting on the limbs and looking down and I thought how great that would be…to look down at all the people.”
Finally, to celebrate her 100th birthday, Geraldine crossed a hot air balloon ride off her bucket list. Atria Copeland and the Hope Foundation of Greater Tyler joined together to make this centenarian's wish come true.
No longer chasing a daydream, Geraldine, at last, has seen the world from a whole new perspective, proving that you can do anything at any age.
It’s safe to say that this birthday joy ride will be tough to top next year when Geraldine turns 101!
