When COVID-19 hit, Atria hit the ground running. Atria's senior management team rushed to escalate safety protocols in communities and, in many cases, was ahead of state and local regulators. What's more, our response plans continue to meet or exceed guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
As a strong supporter of vaccination, we are proud to report that, as of July 1, 2021, our residents and employees are 99% vaccinated. We're excited to begin loosening some of our safety protocols – including increasing the number of visitors at a time and larger resident gatherings.
As many of our COVID-19 protocols are winding down in accordance with state and local guidelines, we're prepared to engage any and all safety protocols needed if it's in the best interest of our residents and staff.
When wildfires, hurricanes, floods or severe winter storms threaten our communities, Atria's emergency protocols and specially trained staff are in place to address any potential danger quickly and effectively.
We work with emergency experts to identify any weather-related threats. Should a situation escalate, our National Emergency Response Team is on 24/7 standby, ready to be dispatched at a moment's notice to assist communities.
When an evacuation becomes necessary, we arrange comfortable lodging and provide continuity of care, and anything else needed for the safety and well-being of residents. Residents' families are kept informed with regular status updates via phone, text and email.
According to the CDC, more than 200,000 people are hospitalized every year with flu-related complications. Older adults are especially vulnerable, which is why Atria is committed to helping residents stay healthy during flu season.
