A Message from Our Executive Director Tim Braband
Life at our community is tailored to the interests and desires of our residents. Here, seniors can live comfortably while taking advantage of opportunities they may not have had while staying at home alone. We take care of the cooking; we take care of the cleaning; we take care of the driving - that way, our residents can focus on doing what they love and choosing what they want to explore next. Welcome to a lifestyle that's full of possibilities. Welcome home.
And we’ll respond accordingly. After all, it’s insights from people like you that help us continue to improve the Atria experience for our residents, their families, our staff and those connected to our communities.

My sincere thanks for all you did for my mother in her last days. It was a pleasure for me having her at Atria Glen Ellyn. It gave me peace of mind as I know she was cared for well. Your staff is amazing. They truly are concerned. They are caring and professional, attentive, up lifting and compassionate. Both you and your staff are special human beings to be able to care for the elderly, which sometimes is not pleasant, nor is it appreciated. I know my wonderful mother was a challenge and I was amused by the stories of the staff. Your facilities are excellent. Clean and beautiful. The food is good along with the dining room staff. Please say thank you to all of them. Thank you with all my heart.

I wanted to send you a quick note expressing my thanks for the way your staff and affiliates handled a couple of “Morris” issues. First, a two-year effort to get my dad serious about the need for physical therapy and exercise has finally paid off. Thanks to the persistence of people at the Atria – whether from Vital Wellness or Atria, I’m not sure – my dad is finally participating in programs to improve his physical well-being. Second, I wanted to extend a specific note of gratitude to Krystal for her responsiveness to issues or requests that I bring to her attention. I sent her an e-mail the other night regarding the timing of dispensation of Morris’ pills (viz., the morning round was coming too early, and I asked her to look into delaying their delivery to him). By the time I talked to my dad the next morning around 9:00, she had already spoken to him about it and was going to look into a later delivery time. I have found this promptness and reliability when responding to requests to be typical of her. I just thought you would like to know. Have a good rest of the day and a good weekend.

Over the past several months your staff has been taking great care of our mother (Mary). One beautiful day in August I was walking with my mother around the grounds with her walker. She became very tired and began to try to sit by leaning on the fence, she was exhausted. I took her too far without her wheelchair as a backup. Thank goodness, after her shift, Elaine was walking to her car across the street and saw us. She ran over to us and before I knew it she had caught my mom and instructed me to get her wheelchair while she stayed with her. I did, and my mom was fine. I don't know what would have happened if Elaine hadn't seen us in this dire situation.I really love the manner in which Elaine, and the others but particularly Elaine, take care of and treat my mom on Sundays. My sister Patricia talks to the staff the night before and asks that my mom be bathed and dressed to be ready for me when I arrive. I usually pick her up and bring her to church and my sister, Patricia, meets her there and brings her back .I began to notice that on some Sundays my mom was dressed differently, her clothes were more carefully picked and put together. I can always tell when it's Elaine who is getting my mom ready because her hair is combed nicely, she has lipstick and jewelry for her and my mom looks great.I know that you are aware of how well Elaine does her job; I just wanted you to know how well I think she's doing. Elaine is a fantastic person, caregiver and nurse. Thank you, Peter T Kates

There are a lot of people at Atria I have especially appreciated: Mary Shafer, Activities Director, r for her enthusiasm, energy, understanding, and constant motion . Elaine and Silvia, caregivers, for the attention and love they show my dad. Chrystal and Gracie, administrators, for their personal attention and desire to help. Connie and Erin, for their presence and caring help at the front desk. All the staff are friendly and show care for the residents, which I appreciate.
