What is assisted living?

Assisted living* communities offer personal care for older people who need assistance with activities of daily living ADLs. Services can vary from community to community due to state licensing and regulation requirements, but assisted living services typically include:

  • Personal grooming assistance, such as bathing and getting dressed
  • Medication assistance
  • Incontinence management
  • Escorts to and from meal events
  • Accommodations for no-salt added and no-concentrated sweet diets
  • Scheduling and follow-up with physician appointments and coordination of ancillary care series, such as occupational and physical therapy

A select number of Atria’s assisted living communities also offer services that include diabetes management, nebulizer and oxygen management, and catheter and ostomy care. A licensed care staff will meet with you to determine specific care needs. If we aren’t the best fit, we will help you find a place that is.

What is Atria’s approach to assisted living?

At Atria, assisted living is about more than a helping hand; it’s about promoting overall well-being through a whole-person approach to aging that includes four key lifestyle choices: exercise, connection, nutrition and goals.

Residents enjoy opportunities to stay active, eat well, connect with neighbors and achieve personal goals right outside their apartment door, every day.

Services and amenities include:

  • Private apartments with emergency alert systems
  • Chef-prepared meals in on-site dining rooms
  • A calendar full of engaging events
  • Fitness center
  • Utilities (excluding phone)
  • Housekeeping and linen services
  • Apartment maintenance
  • Coordination with outside healthcare providers
  • A 24-hour staff
  • Scheduled transportation to local events, errands, and appointments

For individuals who want to see if assisted living is the right fit, short-term stays are available. Guests enjoy private, fully furnished apartments with all the same services and amenities as residents.
