Continuing to stay safe and vibrant - together
Belonging to a caring community is more important now than ever. Although the COVID-19 pandemic brought difficultly and distance, we adapted, grew stronger and discovered new ways to connect - together.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) considers Atria residents a top priority and has recommended that each individual state include residents among the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The first vaccines were administered starting on December 21 and clinics will continue through April. In addition, Atria now requires that all employees receive both rounds of vaccinations by May 1st. This is a critical milestone in the "Sleeve Up Atria" initiative, which is designed to vaccinate more than 20,000 residents and almost 12,000 employees across 25 U.S. states and seven Canadian provinces over the next several weeks.
Timely testing
With support from Mayo Clinic Laboratories, we have administered nearly 150,000 COVID-19 tests to employees, residents and third parties working in Atria communities. We continue to perform 4,000 to 5,000 tests a week, with a turnaround time of three to four days for results - faster than the national average.
Prepared with PPE and sanitizer
When most of the country was experiencing PPE shortages, we worked with suppliers and chartered planes to ensure our communities had the supplies needed to follow safety protocols. We formed key partnerships to make our own gowns, hand sanitizer and hand soap to help keep supplies stocked.
Expanded telehealth
To better protect residents from risks associated with hospital visits, we have outfitted our communities with equipment and technology - including smart TVs, BP monitors and pulse oximeters – for telehealth providers and local physicians to treat residents virtually.
In-apartment programs
During times of quarantine, residents enjoy fitness and learning opportunities, themed culinary experiences, guided meditation, indoor gardening and creative art projects.
Social distance dining
Gathering with friends over a chef-prepared meal is one of life's simple pleasures. At select communities, small group dining options help residents enjoy both the food and the company of neighbors.
A breath of fresh air
With face masks and proper social distancing, residents may stay active with walks, gardening and other outdoor pursuits. During times of quarantine, they can join walking programs accompanied by staff.
Fitness opportunities
Residents stay active with daily fitness challenges, small group exercise classes in select communities and – during times of quarantine – doorway classes led from hallways and other common spaces.
Visiting in person
Depending on state or local guidelines, family and friends can enjoy drive-up visits, gathering in designated outdoor spaces or visits inside resident apartments, all with proper PPE and social distancing.
Connecting virtually
Communities are equipped with tablets, mobile TV carts and conference lines to help residents connect with family and friends.
Staying up to date
By logging in to the Atria Mobile app, families can easily see their family member's daily temperature readings and COVID-19 symptom check updates.

ED Message
A Message from Our Executive Director Karen McHenry
Life at our community is tailored to the interests and desires of our residents. Here, seniors can live comfortably while taking advantage of opportunities they may not have had while staying at home alone. We take care of the cooking; we take care of the cleaning; we take care of the driving - that way, our residents can focus on doing what they love and choosing what they want to explore next. Welcome to a lifestyle that's full of possibilities. Welcome home.
And we’ll respond accordingly. After all, it’s insights from people like you that help us continue to improve the Atria experience for our residents, their families, our staff and those connected to our communities.

The Atria professionals have taken wonderful care of my father for the past 5 years. And they have always been very available to me when I have contacted them for help with something. I am particularly comforted now during the pandemic that my father’s physical and mental health are so well looked after. Oh, of course there were the hurricanes as well! I cannot imagine what it would have been like if Atria had not been as prepared as they were. My brothers and I are grateful to all of the staff. Thank you!

My 92-year old mother came to live with my husband and me so we could care for her dementia and a serious leg wound. As her dementia advanced our family physician talked with us about finding mom a residence where she could get the physical and memory care she needed. We researched and visited six memory care facilities in our area. When we visited Atria in Jupiter, we knew it was the right place for mom. Mom is in Life Guidance (what Atria calls memory care). Unlike the other care residences, we visited, Atria’s memory care is intimate and it is on one floor (no elevators). We knew we wanted my mom’s caregivers to communicate well with mom as well as with us, my sisters who live across the US, and her friends and family in Puerto Rico. We made several visits to Atria before making our decisions. Atria’s sales director, answered hundreds of questions and raised others that we hadn’t even considered. We knew that communicating with dementia patients can be trying at times so on our visits it was great to watch staff talk with residents with kindness, a positive attitude, patience, compassion, and expertise – qualities we looked for every time we visited a residence. We were confident that the caregivers would communicate with us and mom with patience and perseverance, no matter how challenging it would get. Almost one year later, mom is happy. In spite of COVID, she is receiving the best care in the world thanks to everyone at Atria.

My dad has now lived at the Atria for 5 yrs. He is happy, well and most of all feels the love from all the staff. Everyone is so kind and respectful Even in these extremely stressful times the Director is on top of making the residents feel as normal as possible. She has been going above and beyond trying to have the residents keep their dignity and stay safe at the same time. I am grateful and feel blessed we find a loving place to help guide my dad thru his lifestyle journey. Hugs and kisses to the entire staff.

Three years ago, we had to find an assisted living center for our loved one. We visited centers all over Palm Beach County, and once we visited with Lensey at Atria Park of St. Joseph’s we knew this was the place for our family. The warmth and caring attitude shown to our loved one by Lensey on that day continues 3 years later. If not for her, we may have not chosen Atria Park in Jupiter. Rick Kozell - Family member

We moved my mother to Atria Park of St. Joseph's from Chicago, where she'd been living independently. At the time she was 101 and she wasn't able to be on her own anymore. We wanted her nearby where we could spend time together and help her. Upon arriving at Atria, she promptly declared she wouldn't be staying. The manager, seeing what was happening took charge and assured mom that she was in a great place. Very shortly mom was settled in and enjoying her new home. She very much enjoyed the food and told me how happy she was there. The staff was very caring and supportive. They were attuned to her condition and got her the help she needed at the appropriate time.

My grandparents were residents here for a couple of years, so I was somewhat familiar with the community before I became an employee here. When I started working here, both of my grandparents had already passed, but everyone here remembered them, both residents and staff! I felt right at home. The best thing of all was seeing how well the care staff knew my grandparents and how much they had loved them! They weren't just residents here, they were family, surrounded by family. This is also why I love working here - it's like my home away from home, and the residents are my family :)
