I lived a very lonely life before coming here. I must say the "Staff," from the front desk personnel, our talented directors, who seem to never end in trying to find new ways to entertain and help us to manage our lives, housekeeping, servers in our restaurant, The chef and his assistants, caregivers, managers and assistants are outstanding. I have not found one person to be unkind or rude to any of the residents and being fairly new you see and hear more than most. I love the activities, and we all enjoy the food. I have never eaten such a variety of great salads, entrees and desserts . I feel like I am in a high class hotel and yet I still feel like it is family..I don't know how else to explain how I feel, but I always thought when the time came for me to move to a home for Seniors, I would hate it..Well I am here to tell you, I really lucked out. I feel so honored to have been invited to move into Atria Palm Desert and I will be eternally grateful.

I wrote a review when I was a "newbie" and my attitude has not changed in the least. I have recently been pretty well confined to my apartment as I had minor surgery, but of course it turned out to be a little more than that, and then of course was followed up with a bout of pneumonia.. I can only say, thank goodness I was living here when this happened. I don't know who to thank first..let's start with the Reception area personnel, unbelievable is all I can say..compassionate, caring and making sure there is nothing that we want for. Caregivers and Housekeeping, what can I say about you wonderful serving people. You deliver my meals, you clean my apartment you check on me day and night to make sure I'm okay with no thought to your own safety.. Outstanding and heartwarming. "The Restaurant," this includes so many people I wouldn't know where to start. They are caring and provide outstanding delivery of our food. Morning, noon and evening..and still you check to see if we need something else..from the coffee, tea, juices, homemade soups, and anything else a person could want. You have my forever gratitude. And now my favorite and personal issue, My 80th birthday, which I had been looking forward to for, well 80 years...The staff and that includes everyone who is employed at Atria Palm Desert, made this shut-in's day almost perfect. Balloons, cards, presents, scrumptious food (and dessert) and visits with out reservations, just to make my day was perfect and like I said the only thing that would have made this better, would have been to be with everyone on my special day..How can I ever thank you..because of all of you, I made the right decision in moving here and for that I remain, humble and appreciative. Thank You.

I'm very found of my care taker Rozanna. She has inspired me to make an effort to get rid of my walker. I'm trying to get along with out my walker and use my cane, and hopefully walk independtly. I want to to go New York to see the Ground Zero Memorial, and hopefully my son and his wife will join me.

I am a 71 year old man with PARKINSONS and I have a pacemaker and I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis . I was in rehab for 2 months and had to make some medical and living changes in my life.I was told by my doctors that I would have to go to an assisted living environment upon my 2month release from rehab. This new bump on the road of my life was both a surprising and shocking. I suddenly felt very alone and scared of what the future held for me. After much soul searching and the advise from family and friends I began the difficult task of looking for a new place to call home.I started the search by asking my doctors of possible recommendations. They said that I would have to make the final decision on my own as only I knew what would work for my taste and affordability. I did a lot of research and started to look for my new home. So began my search and saw that this would be very difficult I became very sad and disponded .The first place I viewed was a 4 floor mega building which was out of the question with my limited walking. The second place was so dark and dreary I just wouldn't be happy there. My third appointment to view was at ATRIA Palm Desert. I was immediately Impressed with the beautiful , contemporary décor and tasteful art and modern appointments throughout the premises. My first thought was WOW, I could live here!As I stared my tour I saw that all of the staff were very warm and friendly , From the front desk greeting to my meeting with Vickie Maringer the Community Director Who's (open Door) policy and friendly smile makes me feel very secure and that a top notch professional is the Captain of a very smooth sailing ship!all were very helpful and answering all my questions ( and I had many !) After my meeting and tour It was EURIKA , I had found my new home!I moved in on January 6, 2015. All of my expectations proved to be true. Since living here I have made many new friends among the residents and the very dedicated staff. The caregivers are tremendous with a special shout out to" Gabby" Gabreilla Morales who from my very first day showed me what true dedication is all about. The Engage In Life Director Theresa Ramirez has been a light in my life for her endearing and positive outlook on life. She is there when just when you think you can't do something she will prove me wrong!Joseph Garvida the Residents Services Director does a great job and he too must be commended for his kindness and "hands on" approach to every detail in his very busy work schedule. One of the perks of my stay here is the fine food service that Ely the resident Chef provides. He is always dedicated to satisfy our taste buds with a Menu that is always exciting and new. I thank him , my stomach thanks him!My life here at ATRIA has helped me to realize that no matter how bumpy the road of life can sometimes be there are solutions for a better life at ATRIA .I am very blessed, indeed !

Kelly, the Community Sales Director, was very helpful when we were going through the difficult task of moving my 93-year old mother from her home to Atria. Needless to say, leaving your long-time living situation and moving to a totally new environment is very hard. Kelly was gentle, supportive and sympathetic. She guided us through this and made the transition easy.

Caroline is always warm, attentive and polite to my father (John Santucci) - and he isn't easy to please! On his first day at Atria, at his first meal, she introduced herself and made him feel welcome. Her warmth and caring shows whenever she waits on him.And - she always butters his English muffins!
