Charlotte | Women’s Rights Activist
Posted on July 2, 2015 by Jesse Hazel
Charlotte is a woman with passion to spare. A strong advocate for women’s rights, she established the New Rochelle, New York, chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) while in graduate school – and, at a time when most women didn’t work outside the home.
As a former special needs teacher, Charlotte is particularly proud of a program she developed for high school children with learning disabilities.
When she wasn’t teaching, she raised two sons and traveled the world with her husband, Milt. The couple was married 70 years when he passed.
The Atria West 86 resident’s advice to others: “Live life to the ‘nth degree.”
