Honoring the Greatest Generation
We Salute Our Veterans
The
red carpet was rolled out, a Hollywood-like glitz and glamour surrounded
the crowd, and the lights dimmed. Dozens of people at Atria El Camino
Gardens in Carmichael, California, eagerly awaited a preview of the highly
anticipated documentary, “The War.” The preview event in early September
was all part of a celebration to kick off the community’s partnership with
the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project.

Atria's Exceptional Service Award
Recognizes Extraordinary Employees
Since
starting work as a chef at Atria Fairhaven in Fairhaven, Massachusetts
in 2003, Christina Lindh hasn’t missed a day. Regularly taking time to
chat with residents, Christina works to accommodate food preferences and
make each resident feel special; for one resident who didn’t like the
peppers in the meatloaf, she made a small, separate meatloaf without
peppers
just for them. Her remarkable commitment to her work is evident in the
care she shows each and every resident, and her
dedication to Atria’s mission to promote exceptional service has earned
her an Exceptional Service Award.

October 1, the Loaves and Fishes Cookshop in Garden City, New York, was
bustling with activity. Spectators watched appreciatively as four teams
of chefs unleashed their creativity and prepared unique and delicious
dishes.
