Leed

A LEED Silver®-certified building, Atria Lafayette Hill has been thoughtfully designed to help conserve and protect one of Greater Philadelphia’s most precious natural resources – the Wissahickon Creek Watershed – for generations to come.

LEED® stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design™ and is the globally recognized standard for verifying a green building is designed, constructed and operated to improve performance. For more details, visit USGBC.org/Help/What-LEED.

In addition to energy-efficient lighting, a high-efficiency HVAC system, ENERGY STAR®-certified appliances and environmentally friendly paint, carpet and wood, our efforts include:

  • Construction waste recycling set at a minimum of 75 percent
  • Erosion controls to keep soil runoff from polluting local water resources
  • Native, drought-tolerant plants
  • Training staff to learn how to maintain the building’s environmental features
  • Ventilation system that minimizes energy use and creates a healthier indoor environment
  • Low-flow water fixtures to reduce consumption
