It was about making sure residents felt safe, supported, and connected. “I kept thinking about our residents,” he said. “Many of them depend on us for routine and comfort.” Knowing travel conditions could make it difficult for some team members to get in, Hakan made the decision to walk the half-mile to the community so he could be there to support both residents and his colleagues. It’s a moment that reflects how he approaches his role every day. “All my life, in every job I’ve had, I’ve tried to ask myself one simple question: if this were my family, how would I want them to be treated?” Before joining Atria, Hakan spent years working in the medical field in his home country of Turkey.
