Pogácsa Butter Cookies from A Dash and a Dollop
Atria on Roslyn Harbor resident Jeannette W. shares her family's cherished recipe for traditional Hungarian pogácsa butter cookies, which is featured in our resident-inspired recipe book.
At Atria, good company is always on the menu in our full-service dining rooms, where you'll meet friends and make memories over breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Through our signature dining program, you'll always enjoy a wide choice of nutritious meals – there are more than 30 dishes from which to choose at lunch and dinner, and breakfast is always made-to-order.
Our experienced chefs offer fresh, made-from-scratch selections that reflect traditional and local tastes, and we change our featured dishes with the seasons to ensure the freshest ingredients. Special dietary needs – including no-added-salt or no-concentrated-sweets options – are easily accommodated.
Our staff takes time to get to know each resident and caters to his or her individual preferences. We encourage our residents to participate in planning meals by attending monthly meetings to suggest changes and additions to the menu. Atria chefs may even recreate your favorite recipes for the entire community to enjoy.
Visit one of our communities today to taste the Atria culinary experience for yourself. We look forward to catering to you.
Our featured culinary programs include:
The Chef's Table
Watch our culinary staff create your meal. Our chefs regularly construct elegant action stations for cooking displays during breakfast, lunch or dinner. Some of the more popular themes for our Chef's Table include carved roast beef, pasta bars and gourmet desserts.
Master Cooking Classes
Many of our residents are already gifted cooks, but for most chefs, there are always new tricks and trends to learn in the kitchen. Our educational and healthy eating events guide residents through a variety of cooking topics, including special preparation techniques, tips for exploring new styles of cuisine, and the nutritional benefits of choosing healthier ingredients.
Local Flavors from Local Vendors
Nothing brings a community together like warm food and fellowship. Our culinary staff embraces this idea and supports local vendors by utilizing their fresh ingredients in our recipes. We also invite them to visit our communities from time to time to share their delightful offerings.
Guest Chef Events
We love hearing new perspectives from within the larger culinary community. That's why we often invite guest chefs to show off their talents for our residents. Whether hosting a culinary team from one of our sister communities or inviting resident family members to display their skills, our guest chef events always bring happy times and happier stomachs.
Cuisine from Around the World
Spanish tapas, Japanese sushi, Indian curry – the world is full of flavors, and we make it a point to bring many of them to our communities. Our global cuisine selections vary throughout the year and offer residents the opportunity to explore new tastes and styles from countries around the world.
