Atria Senior Living Receives Spirit of Innovation Award from LTC Link

Atria one of ten senior living operators honored for innovation, best practices in the senior care industry

Atria Senior Living, Inc. has been named a Spirit of Innovation Award recipient by LTC LINK, a venue for senior care executives to share ideas and best practices.

Atria is one of ten operators being honored by LINK for making innovative contributions and improvements in the development of best practices and commitment to the success of the senior care industry. The award recognizes Atria's innovative approach to the design, development and implementation of its national flooring program. Atria's efforts included the development of flooring material that supports Atria's company-wide sustainability initiatives, re-engineering its procurement processes to increase efficiencies and developing a best-in-class supply chain through a collaborative approach with key suppliers.

"Our partnership with Shaw Industries Group, Inc. and Creative Touch Interiors resulted in the development of innovative solutions and long-term value for all involved."

Collaboration between the three companies yielded several positive outcomes, including:

  • The utilization of environmentally-friendly materials, including low VOC carpet adhesive
  • A 100% recyclable carpeting product that helped Atria achieve its first community LEED® certification, a national standard to recognize high performance green buildings from the U.S. Green Building Council
  • Improved supplier manufacturing and distribution efficiencies

Atria presented the case study of the company's award winning procurement process, entitled "Take a Black Belt to Process Improvement," alongside nine other recipients of this year's inaugural award at the LTC LINK Conference in Chicago July 25-27. The presentation walked executives through the collaborative processes Atria utilized to develop its flooring products, improve the practices for ordering, shipping and installing the products, and help the company achieve its sustainability goals.
